Bayside Bistro on Friday, October 17th.
It will feature a screening of a powerful and informative film from Vancouver/Surrey which explores the stories of three young South Asian Queers coming out to their parents, families and community. Of course, they encounter very conservative family and spiritual values, community shunning, and other fearsome behaviour. But their parents overcome their own learnings and come to understand and support them.
This is so much like the stories of young Queers in our community that there is much to learn about acceptance, understanding and supporting them. There will be a discussion/conversation following the screening.
