The Spirit Players will take to the “stage” as they dramatize kernels of spiritual wisdom from the writing of Richard Wagamese (1955-2017).

From Wabaseemoong First Nation, Wagamese was an award-winning Indigenous author and journalist whose writing was deeply influenced by the generational impact of Canada’s Indian residential school system. Visiting minister, Rev. Helen wrote today’s script (based on Wagamese’s book, Embers: One Ojibway’s Meditations) to honour her friend, Richard.

Spirit Players: Rev. Helen McFadyen, Meredith Martin and Marvin Haave.

Rev. Helen McFadyen works for the Unitarian Universalist Association as Administrator of the Accessibility and Inclusion Ministry (AIM) certification program, assisting congregations across North America through a multi-year process to become more accessible, and inclusive of people with disabilities.
