Experiencing a Meaningful Life with Emily Esfahani Smith (Video)
May 26 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Experiencing a Meaningful Life with Emily Esfahani Smith (Video)

Gathering Coordinator: Rachel McBryan

In a video, join us as we watch and discuss psychologist Emily Esfahani Smith who challenges our fixation on happiness and maintains that true satisfaction comes from creating a life of purpose.

Our culture is obsessed with happiness, but what if there’s a more fulfilling path? Learn more about the difference between being happy and having meaning as Smith offers four pillars of a meaningful life. In small group conversation, we’ll apply these four pillars to our own lives and how they can put us in right relationship with ourselves, our community and whatever helps us transcend ourselves (like parenting, a higher power, science, writing, or being in nature).

Summer Fun, Food and Fellowship!

This is our Fellowship’s special time to get together in the summer.

Meet by the covered brick and concrete barbecue area for the potluck. Don’t turn in at the park sign, but continue a bit further on Astra Bay Road to the parking lot on the right hand side.

What to bring: shared finger foods, salads,  beverages, main dishes and desserts. Bring your own dishes, eatin’ irons, lawn chairs, umbrellas, balls, frisbees and swimming gear. Kin Beach is a dog-friendly park on the beach with outhouse nearby. We’ll meet drizzle or shine. There is some shade and 2 covered picnic tables. We do not use the BBQ itself.
