How Do You Connect Your Spirituality and Actions?
Apr 7 @ 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm
How Do You Connect Your Spirituality and Actions?

With Rev. Meg Roberts

I think of spirituality as where my beliefs, practices, rituals and actions come together, like different parts of a tree – the fruits are my actions creating a more loving, compassionate and just world.

How do you live spiritual activism in your life: As a parent? In your day-to-day work? Your involvement in justice issues? Being on the front lines of demonstrations? Your creativity? Your gardening? Let’s share and inspire one another to transform ourselves and our world.

Following our service, please join us for the Fellowship’s monthly potluck.

Spirit of Life Workshop

Gathering Coordinator: Debby Howard
In this service, based on the beloved Unitarian song ’Spirit of Life’, we will focus on the phrase “roots hold me close”.
Together we will explore our spiritual roots – which of our roots nourish us, and which do we wish to nourish and develop?
How can we water and feed the roots of our spiritual lives?

Please note: After the service, there will be a short town hall meeting where the board will report on some of the questions and possibilities the board has been considering.  Your input is important!

The Wisdom of Richard Wagamese – Theatre for the spiritual seeker
May 19 @ 4:00 pm – 5:15 pm
The Wisdom of Richard Wagamese – Theatre for the spiritual seeker

The Spirit Players will take to the “stage” as they dramatize kernels of spiritual wisdom from the writing of Richard Wagamese (1955-2017).

From Wabaseemoong First Nation, Wagamese was an award-winning Indigenous author and journalist whose writing was deeply influenced by the generational impact of Canada’s Indian residential school system. Visiting minister, Rev. Helen wrote today’s script (based on Wagamese’s book, Embers: One Ojibway’s Meditations) to honour her friend, Richard.

Spirit Players: Rev. Helen McFadyen, Meredith Martin and Marvin Haave.

Rev. Helen McFadyen works for the Unitarian Universalist Association as Administrator of the Accessibility and Inclusion Ministry (AIM) certification program, assisting congregations across North America through a multi-year process to become more accessible, and inclusive of people with disabilities. She joined the national Truth, Healing, Reconciliation Resource Team last year. Helen lives in Victoria with her beloved guide dog, Camilla
