Winter Solstice Celebration – 11th Annual
Dec 16 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Winter Solstice Celebration - 11th Annual @ Comox Valley Unitarians | Comox | British Columbia | Canada

With special musical guests, the Mystic Valley Voices Choir, this contemplative service of meditation, music and readings celebrating the Winter Solstice is designed for adults, teenagers or children who would enjoy this experience.

Families are encouraged. For younger or more energetic children interested in something livelier, we warmly welcome them to join the Young People’s Spiritual Exploration program. Here we engage in more interactive and boisterous activities for Solstice suitable for all ages. Or if you prefer, our parent’s viewing room right next to the Sanctuary provides the chance to view and hear the service while playing with your children.

Please join us for refreshments following the celebration.

Praise Darwin!
Jan 20 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Praise Darwin! @ Comox Valley Unitarians | Comox | British Columbia | Canada

In this series on 3rd Sundays, we’re celebrating the Unitarian sources for inspiration.

This month, we’re looking at the findings of science using a short recording of comedian Charlie Varon “saving” his audience from worldly despair — oh, praise Darwin! Fourteen minutes of entertainment and scientific education culminates in a profound identity shift: we know that we hail from a long and persistent ancestry. And we owe it to the past to secure a viable future. Oh, praise Darwin!

Gathering Coordinator: Celia LaVal
